VI National Diagnostic Simulations
The VI National Diagnostic Simulations took place on 18-20 May. In 2019 in Kraków, the winners of the 5th edition of the OSD, was a team from our university consisting of Monika Słomka, Katarzyna Konderla and Daria Malarczyk. According to the rules of the competition, the university whose team wins the competition becomes the organiser of the next edition.
This year's 6th edition of the OSD was attended by students of medical analytics from seven medical universities, i.e. the Medical University of Warsaw, the Ludwik Rydygier Medical College in Bydgoszcz, the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, the Jagiellonian University Medical College, the Medical University of Gdańsk, the Piastów Śląskich Medical University in Wrocław, the Karol Marcinkowski Medical University in Poznań and the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin.
The event was held under the Honorary Patronage of the Rector of the WUM, Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong, MD, PhD, and the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the WUM, Joanna Kolmas, MD, PhD.
The teams entered nine competitions, which were of a practical nature and covered general analytics, laboratory haematology with coagulology, clinical chemistry, blood group serology and transfusionology, microbiological diagnostics and parasitology, immunopathology with immunodiagnostics, molecular biology and medical statistics.
The team from Krakow scored the most points, winning the 6th edition of the National Diagnostic Simulations with 281 points. The team from our Faculty took second place with 275 points, while the team from Wrocław took third place with 265.25 points.
