Graduation of pharmacy students
14 May 2022 graduates. The Vice-Chancellor for Science and Technology Transfer, Professor Piotr Pruszczyk, and the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Joanna Kolmas, PhD, presented diplomas to 108 graduates of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Medical University of Warsaw.
The graduation ceremony was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Joanna Kolmas, PhD, together with the Pro-Dean, Piotr Lulinski, PhD.
Professor Piotr Pruszczyk, Vice-Chancellor for Science and Technology Transfer, spoke on behalf of the university authorities.
- This day symbolically closes an important stage of your lives and at the same time opens another one - a new one, which you have chosen as the path of your professional development. You are truly well prepared for your profession and the challenges that await you, equipped with knowledge and skills and a diploma from a truly excellent university, which is a pass to fulfil your ambitions and achieve your goals,' said Prof. Pruszczyk.
Two awards were presented at the ceremony - the 'Golden Laurel Graduate' medal for the highest average of all studies, and a diploma from the INTER Polska Insurance Company. The winner was graduate Paulina Szczypkowska.
- You are specialists in medicines and, in the current era, also specialists in patient pharmacotherapy care educated to a very broad extent. You have knowledge of the different drug forms, of prescription incompatibilities and interactions, but also of pharmaceutical care. You have a very broad knowledge, but this is only the basis, you will now start to specialise in your chosen branch of pharmacy. And many times you will be surprised by what knowledge you will use during your studies," said Dr Agnieszka Bazylko, Vice Dean of the Faculty.
After the oath-taking ceremony and the handing over of diplomas, the former chairperson of the Pharmaceutical Faculty Students' Self-Government and former vice-chairperson of the Students' Self-Government Hanna Dąbrowska took the floor. Afterwards, Marcin Jaworski, a member of the Executive Board of the Students' Self-Government of the Faculty of Pharmacy, thanked Ms Hanna for her work to date and her commitment to the Faculty's student community.
The graduation ceremony was also attended by: Vice-Chancellor for Human Resources and Organisational Affairs Prof. Agnieszka Cudnoch-Jędrzejewska, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Aleksandra Banaszkiewicz, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry Dr. Ewa Czochorowska, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Mariusz Gujski, Chairman of the Council for the Discipline of Pharmaceutical Sciences Prof. Grzegorz Nałęcz-Jawecki, representative of the District Pharmacy Chamber in Warsaw Dr. n. pharm. Włodziemierz Hudemowicz, the Director of the Warsaw Branch of TU INTER Polska Katarzyna Ładno, members of the Pharmaceutical Faculty Council and members of the Pharmaceutical Faculty Student Government.
The ceremony was honoured with a performance by the WUM Choir and the "Gaudeamus Igitur" song.
